See if your question has been answered:
Q: I can't see my Core®Points anywhere? What happened?

A: We have decided to retire the Core®Points virtual currency, and any purchases previously made have been fully refunded to those who bought. Any Mini Ninjas levels you may have bought are still yours to keep and play whenever. If you did not receive any email to this effect, please make sure to contact the Customer Services team.

Q: As I'm playing, I see a 'Thank you for playing today' screen, and I can't play any more!

A: Glad to hear you were having fun, and so sorry for interrupting your game! Please note that if you come back daily, you can accumulate free play time — 10 minutes each day — up to a maximum of 60 minutes at any one time, to spend uninterrupted when you want.

You can of course also simply unlock any single level for $0.49, or the full game — all 22 levels — for only $6.99 — and have full access forever!

Q: Please explain the Daily Bonus and the free-play time system?

A: If you register an account, you can play all of Mini Ninjas for FREE, using our new daily bonus system. When you register, we'll give you 10 minutes right away, to get you started.

Simply return each day and a daily bonus of 10 minutes of free play time will be yours to collect! This will then be added to any time you have already accumulated. To collect the daily bonus, just log on to Core®Online and click "Claim my free bonus" in the Daily Bonus dialog box that appears.

You can accumulate up to a maximum of 60 minutes at a time.

Q: I see the Daily Bonus screen, but I'm not getting my daily 10 minutes! What's up with that?

A: This only happens when you already have a full 60 minutes accumulated. To play for more than 60 minutes, please unlock the level for $0.49, or the full game for only $6.99.

Q: How can I unlock all levels of Mini Ninjas?

A: You can buy the full game right here, for $6.99, which will unlock all 22 levels, and they will be yours to keep forever! Don't worry — if you've already purchased one or more levels, the full price of the game will be automatically reduced.

Q: When I run the game, I can hear sounds and Hiro running around, but the screen stays black.

A: Try reloading the game page a few times. If this doesn't help, your graphics card may not be supported for Native Client, or your graphics card driver may be out of date. Please verify that you have updated your operating system and drivers to the latest version.

You may still be able to play Mini Ninjas, though! Try it again, but this time in Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Q: I'm on Mac, mouse control is not working properly?

A: First, try clicking a couple of times inside the game. Mostly, this is enough to fix this issue.

If you still can't get mouse control working, it is likely that you are running in Presentation Mode. Please check the following steps:

  1. 1. Hit ESC to pause gameplay.
  2. 2. Go to the Chrome menu bar at the top of your screen and select the "View" menu.
  3. 3. If this menu says "Exit Presentation Mode" and/or "Exit Fullscreen Mode", please proceed to step 4. Otherwise, skip to step 5.
  4. 4. Hit cmd + ctrl + F to exit both fullscreen modes.
  5. 5. Click inside the game window.
  6. 6. When a dialog appears ("beta.coreonline.com is now full screen"), be sure to click the "Allow" button.

Please also note that you will need to make use of the right-mouse button functionality throughout Mini Ninjas. Please verify that this functionality is enabled, in System Preferences > Mouse > Secondary Click, as well as in System Preferences > Trackpad > Secondary Click, if you're using a trackpad.

Q: I'm in Chrome, when the game loads I can only see part of the game screen?

A: This is a known issue and we're working with Google to resolve it. Luckily, fixing it is easy — all you need to do is hit F11 to exit fullscreen mode (on Mac, hit ctrl + cmd + F), then reload the page and try again.

Q: I have a query regarding my Core®Online charges?

A: Please contact the Google Wallet support team if you have billing queries. They can be found here: Google Checkout Support. For other queries you can contact the Customer Services team for Europe here or if you're in North America they can be reached here.

Q: What is Core®Online, who am I registering with?

A: Core®Online is the hosting platform for Mini Ninjas in the browser and is part of Square Enix®, your login details will be securely held by Square Enix®.

Q: Do I have to register to play the game?

A: You can play the Demo level of Mini Ninjas entirely for free, you can find it here — however you will be asked to register an account to keep playing after 10 minutes.

Once you are signed in, and as a thank you for registering, you'll be given 10 minutes of free playing time. As a further bonus, if you confirm your email address, you will get another 10 minutes, to spend when you like.

What's more, each day you log back into the site, you can claim another 10 minutes on top of your unused minutes, up to a total of 60 minutes of free, uninterrupted play.

To fully unlock a level or all of Mini Ninjas, just click the 'Continue Now' button when your free time is up. Levels are generally $0.49.

Q: How do I confirm my email address and get my extra 10 free minutes?

A: First you must register an account with us, this you can do here. After you've registered, please check the email account you used to register with and verify that you received a "Welcome email" from us. Open the email and click the link to confirm your email address and redeem your free play minutes.

If for some reason you did not receive your confirmation email, you can request a new one from the Profile page.

Q: I've forgotten my password?

A: You can recover your password by clicking here.

Q: Where can I change the email address of my Core®Online account?

A: You can change your email address in the Profile page.

Q: I would like to stop receiving news from Core®Online.

A: No problem — just go to the Profile page and un-check the "Keep me in the loop" checkbox.

Q: Why do you need my Date of Birth?

A: Whilst Mini Ninjas is rated as PEGI 7+, we still need to take your date of birth to ensure that you are 13+. Unfortunately 13+ is the minimum age that you must be in order to register and hold an account on the Core®Online website.

Q: What happens to my game progress in Mini Ninjas when I close the browser window? Is it lost?

A: No need to worry, Core®Online is a cloud service so it saves your Mini Ninjas game progress on a central server. Simply sign-in (doesn't need to be the same computer) when you're ready to play again and you'll be able to continue from your last checkpoint.

Q: Where can I see an overview of all the control keys for Mini Ninjas?

A: You should be able to find a full controls overview on the game page, right below the game screen. If you're running the game in fullscreen, just press the "Esc" key to go to browser mode. Switching back to fullscreen mode is as simple as clicking in the game screen again.

Alternatively you can view the control list in the manual which is located here.

Q: Do I need to install anything?

A: If you're using the Chrome 19 browser then you don't need to install anything. Running an older version of Chrome? You can download the latest version of Chrome directly from Google.

If you're on a Windows PC and prefer to use a non-Chrome browser then you will instead be asked to install the Square Enix® Secure Launcher ("SESL"), a secure plug-in which has been developed by Square Enix® specifically to run Core®Online games in all browsers.

If you're on a Mac, you must currently use Chrome 19 or higher.

If you're having trouble playing Mini Ninjas using Native Client in Chrome, and you're on a Windows PC, you can select SESL as your preferred game engine (when available) on the Profile page.

Q: What is "Square Enix® Secure Launcher", and why do I need it to run the game?

A: SESL is a secure browser plug-in developed by Square Enix® specifically to run Core®Online games, offering full native game performance in all mainstream web browsers. (SESL is currently only available on Windows.)

Q: Can I use a game controller with the game?

A: This depends on the browser that you're using:

Google Chrome (Mac / Windows):

  • Google is working to add gamepad support to Native Client, but this feature has not yet been released.

Other browsers (Windows):

  • Gamepad support is built right into SESL (the Core®Online plug-in.) Just connect your Windows gamepad, and everything should work automatically. (Mini Ninjas is optimized for Microsoft's Xbox Controller for Windows.)

Q: I'm having problems with the game, it's running really slowly for me. What can I do?

A: Sorry that you're having problems running the game. Please check that your computer reaches the minimum required specs, if your machine does reach these minimums but you're still having problems then you might be able to improve game performance by lowering your display resolution when playing Mini Ninjas, or hitting F12 to run the game in windowed mode (SESL plug-in only).

Also close any other games, programs or web pages that you don't need.

Q: Things in the game are not working as they should?

A: Sorry about that, we're working hard to fix everything. Please report any issues to us, using the feedback form. Please also check the system requirements listed on this page.

Q: Help! The game just hangs on the dark pause screen in Internet Explorer, and if I click nothing happens?

A: If you're having trouble playing the game in Internet Explorer (IE), we would encourage you to try it instead with Google Chrome 19, available from the Chrome download page.

Q: I'd like to report a bug/problem with the game?

A: We're sorry that you've encountered a problem with the game, and we appreciate your help. To report a bug you've encountered with Mini Ninjas, please use the feedback form and provide as much detail as possible — eg. platform (Windows / Mac), OS version, browser version, RAM, graphics card.

Q: The game has just crashed, how can I fix it?

A: If you've encountered a problem, please report it using our feedback form and refresh the page to reload the game. Please also check the latest system requirements.

Q: When playing on a MacBook or PC notebook with a trackpad, I'm having trouble assigning inventory items to the Quick Item Wheel?

A: While you'll be able to play through the game without one, we highly recommend connecting a mouse to play Mini Ninjas. Please refer to the Mini Ninjas manual for more detailed information about game controls.

Q: I'm playing on Windows Vista/7 and the game freezes occasionally?

A: This is currently a known issue that's being looked at by ourselves and Google. We do have a work around though so you can continue to play Mini Ninjas:

  1. You will need to disable the Aero Glass effects module, simply go to the desktop and right click, then choose "Personalize". Under "Basic and High Contrast Themes", click "Windows 7 Basic" to turn this feature off.
  2. Once that's disabled, launch Chrome and type "about:flags" into the URL bar. From this page you will need to enable the "Disable GPU VSync" option.
  3. Once this is done, re-launch Chrome and go back to Mini Ninjas. The game should now run without problems.

Q: Who am I entering into a transaction with?

A: When you buy Mini Ninjas levels, you are buying virtual goods from Square Enix®, this does not directly involve credit card use. The actual credit card payment is a separate transaction between you and Google Wallet, and only Google needs your credit card data. Please also refer to our Terms of Use.

Q: Who will hold my credit card data?

A: Square Enix® is not involved in any payment transactions, so your credit card data is never revealed to us. All payments are handled exclusively by Google Wallet, so this is the only service that needs access to your credit card. If you have any further questions, please contact our Customer Services.

Q: Is my credit card accepted by Core®Online / Google Wallet?

A: Please refer to Google Wallet's support pages.

Q: Can I get my level purchases refunded?

A: We're sorry, but we're unable to refund virtual goods purchases. If you've made a purchase in error then please contact our Customer Services team who will see if they can help you.

Please be sure to check the Terms of Service if you're unsure before going ahead with any purchase.

Q: I'd like to close my Core®Online account. What happens with my level purchases?

A: Unfortunately we're not able to refund level purchases, if you choose to close your account these purchases will be lost. We don't want to lose you as a customer so please visit our feedback form or contact customer services to let us know why you're leaving and we'll see if there's anything we can do to help.

Q: I'm having a technical issue with the game, but it's not described here?

A: Please report the issue to us using this feedback form and tell us as much as you can about the problem you're experiencing, as well as your computer's specs:

  • graphics card (GPU)
  • processor (CPU)
  • RAM
  • system software (OS version)
  • browser version

Using Chrome? By entering "about:gpu", you can get a detailed report about your graphics hardware and system specs. This is very useful for us and we would be grateful if you would copy it and paste it into your feedback report.
